My name is Jason Loudon. Originally born in California, my mother and I have moved around a great deal. Today I'm extremely grateful for the influences that the many moves and changes have had upon my world view. Furthermore, throughout my life music, sports, and education have remained three of the most important factors in driving both my interests and my aspirations.
Music has been by far one of the most critically defining features in my life-story. Both writing and performance have granted me outlets to express some of my deepest emotions. On one hand my ability to play by ear has provided me with a great advantage. I have been a member of a band since my freshmen year in college. With that said, on more than one occasion my lack of formal training has shown to have its limitations. Truthfully I have a long, long way to go. I trust that playing the piano, the guitar, and writing lyrics will remain a top priority for me as long as I shall live.
Participation in sports has always remained a vital component of my life. At the high school and collegiate levels I have been a member of the varisty soccer and football programs - as a goalkeeper and wide reciever respectively. While competition has provided me always with a constant avenue for self-improvement and achievement, sports in general have been most rewarding through the resulting friendship bonds and priceless memories -forged through the toils and victories of hardwork, dedication, and teamwork. Over the years, I have also participated in martial arts, tennis, and basketball. All of which I hope to continue on with, even after my transition into adulthood progresses. I also hope to utilize my passion for sports as a coach and mentor.
In May 2007 I will graduate from Sewanee: The University of the South with a Bachelors of Arts in History, minors in Political Science and French Studies, as well as my Tennessee Teaching License. I plan to continue my education, if at all possible, for the rest of my life. Beginning in the spring of 2008 I wish to begin masters programs at Vanderbilt University, for both Education and Political Science. I also plan to become the first in my family to recieve my PhD. Throughout my teaching career, I expect to teach an endless variety of subjects and grade levels. Every option seems to come packed full with unique challenges and benefits.
The combination of my music, my sports, and my education have greatly shaped the person I am today. Likewise, through the endless support of family, friends, and teachers I have been blessed with the encouragement to never look back, and always reach for the next level of success. I cannot wait to give back, and with enthusiasm and optimism, I cannot wait to make my mark on this world as a teacher, coach, mentor, husband, and parent.
